This symbolic imagery features the keystone crop of cotton being grown within a holistic system that integrates animals and perennial tree orchards to build healthy soil, support biodiversity, increase water resources, and build resilience. We identify specific crops or species as “keystone” because of their ecological, economic, and cultural implications.
